Swarmin General Rules of Participation
The rules of participation are intended to provide players with guidelines that result in a more enjoyable experience and fair play. Swarmin has purposely tried to keep the rules of participation simple and concise. From time to time the rules of participation may be adjusted, ample notice will be given on this page, rules will not be adjusted once players begin a Swarmin event.
General Rules
Each player is required to complete all registration and log in requirements found on the log in page. Swarmin begins to calculate player's time once logged on.
Clues & Penalties
Once properly logged on players will be given a clue directing them to a series of web sites, based on that clue the player determines which web site is the opening site for the Swarmin event. If the player chooses an incorrect web site Swarmin will immediately notify the player of the error and provide an additional clue, each clue provided by Swarmin following the initial clue will result in a one minute penalty added to the player's time for all web site searches. Example four clues given for the player to find a web site following the initial clue will result in four minutes in penalties added to the player's time.
Time & Sequence
Once on the approved Swarmin web site the player can take as much time as needed to study the site, once the player feels they are ready to answer questions about the site the player will be directed to request the first of ten questions relating to information contained within the text of the site. Questions are multiple choice, and need to be correctly answered in sequence. Swarmin reserves the right to change any and all yet unanswered questions at anytime. If the player answers the question correctly the next question in sequence will appear for a total of ten questions per site. If the player answers any question incorrectly a one minute penalty will be assigned and a clue appear. Once all ten questions are correctly answered in the sequence provided by Swarmin the players will be given a clue to attend another site until the player has attended, in sequence, all ten sites and answered all ten site specific questions correctly.Logging on and Off
Player may participate in the event at anytime during the running time published for the particular event. Players must log on each time and can begin the event from where they left off. Swarmin will keep an on going record of the player's time to successfully complete the event.
Session Duration
Players can not begin an event until the published start time; players will conclude and be considered finished participation at the published close time of the event regardless of the player's completion of the game. Most Swarmin events have a life of approximately ten days, players can complete the entire event in one session or multiple sessions. Swarmin will at the end of the event session calculate all players' times to complete the event and respond to each player indicating their time of participation and overall ranking. A complete list of players will not be published. All times as calculated by Swarmin are final.
